Now that I have your attention – it is possible to have your money sitting in an inactive account in a bank you used to bank with.
Mind boggling isn’t it?
It was recently brought to my attention that there is a Government website where you can search your name and see if there is money sitting idle for you.
What is that website? I will tell you – but I’m not letting you get off that easy. Hey, you didn’t know that money was there – what’s another 2 minutes before searching?
Let me explain what I’m talking about:
Let’s say you had a bank account with a Canadian bank (we will use CIBC as an example). Over the years you moved somewhere else or moved to a different bank (we will use TD). You may have forgotten all about that CIBC bank account all together. If you search on this website you could see if there is unclaimed money from that bank account! That’s your money! It will also tell you how to go out and get that money back!
It’s simple – Click this link Unclaimed Money, and do a search for your name. If you do find yourself with some money waiting for you patiently – there is all the information on the website how to rightfully claim that money back!
